It’s been a while since my last One Room Challenge, and I’m sure excited about this one. A backyard refresh has has been on my mind for well over a year now (especially after being shut indoors for so long!) and I cannot wait to get started.

Next week I will detail the Before situation and all the details and steps, but for now, let’s just talk mood boards!

Our home is an English Tudor revival, and my vision for the back is inspired by the romantic patio gardens seen in Europe. I am thinking about French linen table cloths, natural materials like wood and rattan, pea gravel, stone, and lots of new traditional plantings.
The plan will include both an intimate dining area off of our family room, and a more spacious and casual fire pit and conversation space near the back of the yard.
I have found a lot of inspiration on Instagram:
